I bought 50lbs of Gold brand unbleached flour from Macey's today for $12.00. I saved over $30.00. Now, six months ago this really wouldn't have been used, so I wouldn't have been excited but lately I've been baking lots of bread--four or five days a week--so I actually use 15-20 cups of flour during a regular week.
So, if you bake yummy homemade bread/pizza dough/pastries/etc., buy 50lbs at Macey's and call it a good day.
ps. Macey's is having their caselot sale right now and some things are a really good price--but watch out, others aren't (found many things cheaper per ounce at Costco) and some are a good price (canned applesauce) but aren't very good for you (said applesauce has tons of high fructose corn syrup to hide the fact that the apples had absolutely no flavor left when processed to death in the canned applesauce making process).
